Public-Private Partnerships for Affordable Housing & Economic Development
Florida Superior Properties Economic Community Services, Inc. (Florida SPECS) is a nonprofit organization certified by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO). Our core objective is to develop secure and affordable housing for our communities' low-and moderate-income individuals. Presently, we are managing various improvement projects to offer housing solutions to seniors, veterans, and the workforce.
Our mission is to assist local governments in developing and managing decent, safe, and affordable housing for low to moderate income individuals. To achieve this mission, we provide diverse services, including helping local governments implement solutions for the affordable housing element of their Consolidated Plan, developing affordable single and multi-family housing units, and offering a web-based directory of resources for Florida residents about affordable housing alternatives available in their community.
We also aim to widen opportunities for individuals and families to own, manage, and operate business enterprises by furthering the development of locally owned and operated enterprises in economically underprivileged or depressed areas. We assist residents and groups in developing entrepreneurial and management skills necessary for the successful operation of business enterprises to help lift them above the poverty line.
At Florida SPECS, effective partnerships are fundamental to achieving our goals. We are committed to teamwork and strive to unite people and organizations to solve community-based challenges. As a nonprofit membership organization, we welcome for profit, nonprofit, and public sector organizations to discuss ideas for creating effective solutions-based partnerships with us.
