Florida SPECS has worked with the City of Kissimmee since 2009, overseeing and managing their Neighborhood Stabilization Programs (NSP). The initial phase of this engagement, the NSP1 Project, was successfully managed by Florida SPECS with a budget of $2.3 million. During this phase, Florida SPECS acted as the administrator of the NSP1 Program and purchased 19 homes, exceeding the original projection by two. These homes were then rehabilitated by Florida SPECS, with nine of them being sold as affordable housing for seniors. The remaining ten homes were donated to the Osceola Council on Aging as part of a partnership program focused on affordable housing for seniors. The Osceola Council on Aging was able to rent and maintain all ten homes for the long term. Florida SPECS provided turnkey marketing and management services, including retaining all HUD compliance requirements, and completed the project within the specified timeframe and budget.
Following the successful management of NSP1, Florida SPECS continued to manage the NSP2 and NSP3 Programs for the City of Kissimmee, further strengthening the relationship between the two organizations. This engagement was characterized by a deep level of mutual trust and respect, and Florida SPECS provided the City of Kissimmee with high-quality, professional services throughout the engagement.
